Our lockable dog gate maximizes your Volvo's space and comfort. When safely parked and locked, open the boot lid for fresh air. Alternatively, the gate has a locking handle. When parked, you can leave your boot lid open when the dog gate is locked and let the breeze in. Your dog won't have to leave the car to get fresh air.

At the Volvo Cars Safety Centre, we test child safety in real cars, not just on test rigs. Our research helps us refine everything from safety belt geometry to child seat designs. We help protect children, from newborns to preteens, on the road in a Volvo car.
We strongly recommend that children up to 140 cm in height use a child restraint when sitting in the front or rear seat. And with recent airbag advances, our front-seat safety guidance has changed. Recommendations vary based on your car's model year.
Pregnant women should always wear a safety belt. It's the safest choice for both the mother and the baby. Position it snugly, untwisted and close to the body – with the lap belt low below the belly and the shoulder belt across the shoulder.
For children between 15 kg and 36 kg, approx. 3-10 years old. Volvo recommends that your child sits facing backwards in the car to at least 3-4 years of age. Thanks to a variety of head restraint settings, a car journey becomes a comfortable experience in the child seat. Together with the extensive protection around the shoulders and at the sides, the seating surface ensures that the lap belt and diagonal belt fit correctly and close to the child's body.
