The Nissan Qashqai has been presented with a sought-after honour at the 2026 Practical Caravan Awards. It has been named ‘Best Tow Car in the Under 1500kg Caravan’ category.
The accolade has helped get the year off to a great start for Qashqai. Earlier in January, it was revealed that the iconic crossover was one of the best-selling new cars in the UK in 2025, securing third place in the SMMT league table with 41,141 units registered.
Qashqai enjoyed a successful 2025 for other reasons too. Qashqai with new e-POWER was named Hybrid Car of the Year at the News UK Motor Awards for a second time, and was positively reviewed by a number of titles such as The Sun, Auto Express, Parkers and What Car?
Its award from Practical Caravan has naturally been welcomed by Nissan with a spokesperson saying: ‘‘We know that Qashqai is used incredibly widely as a tow car – it works exceptionally well in that setting and is perfect for towing caravans, boats and trailers.
‘‘It’s great that its abilities in this area have been recognised by the team at Practical Caravan and we thank the judges for this award.’’
Sarah Wakely, Editor-in-Chief at Practical Caravan, said: ‘‘Here at Practical Caravan, we know that our readers are very discerning when it comes to their tow cars. They love vehicles that offer a fantastic combination of stability, security and style when they’re away on their holidays.

Excellent all-rounder
‘‘That’s why we’re delighted to present the Nissan Qashqai DiG-T MHEV 158 N-Connecta with our prestigious Best Small Tow Car (under 1500kg) award for 2026. Not only is it a very capable tow car, it’s an excellent all-round family SUV when you don’t have a caravan hitched up, too.’’
