Time and time again, Renault have proven their commitment to electrified vehicles, introducing us to a variety of concepts and production models within this field. In this article, we will discuss the Renault’s latest, most exciting concept, the Renault Scénic Vision!

Renault have consistently innovated within the field of electric vehicles since they started to come into fashion in the 2010’s, with their Zoe, Kangoo ZE and Twizzy models being the early fully electric models available. As such, Renault have continued to improve upon their existing knowledge and expertise, previewing a number of concepts, such as the Renault Morphoz concept. With the Meganne E-Tech on the horizon, now seems an excellent time to tease us with the next electrified model in their line-up, hence the introduction of the Renault Scénic Vision concept!

Although the Renault Scénic Vision shares the nameplate of the Scénic people mover that we are all familiar with, it is actually radically different from Scénics of the past. This concept previews a world where the Scénic is now an SUV, that sits above the new Megane E-Tech, that adopting the latest evolution of Renault’s design language, with a heavily sculpted body, strong character lines and futuristic details.

This in itself, makes this concept exciting, but the integration of their H2-Tech powertrain means you get all the benefits of pure electric driving, without a lot of the hassle. Combining a 40kWh battery pack with a hydrogen generator resolves arguably one of the biggest drawbacks of pure electric vehicles, the recharge time. This is a similar principal to plug-in hybrid powertrains that we are currently used to, but using hydrogen instead of petrol or diesel means that the only emission is water. The use of this powertrain means that this model can get up to 497 of range!

Inside, the Scénic Vision includes wide floating-style seats, an array of small rectangle-shaped screens, a wraparound screen on the top of the dashboard, a yoke steering wheel, and fancy ambient lighting. A facial recognition system automatically opens the doors and adjusts the vehicle settings to the driver’s profile and each seat is equipped with microphones and speakers for personal audio and optimal communication between passengers.

The concept previews a production model, that we hope to see in 2024, and if the transition between the Renault Morphoz Concept to the production Megane E-Tech is anything to go off, we can expect the new Scénic to mirror a lot of the features within this concept.
