This weekend, MG attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where they took the opportunity to showcase their latest new model, the MG5. MG released the MG5 in 2020 and since then, it has gone on to prove itself as an excellent contender on the electric vehicle market, winning a trophy cabinet full of awards thanks to its huge interior, and array of features. Building on this success, MG have updated it for 2022 with a huge list of changes.
The MG5 has been updated with a variety of new features, starting with its design, which has been given a new more angular and contemporary look, with sleek headlights and in place of the original faux grille is a cleaner new bumper design that looks really impressive. The MG5 also gets new lights and an updated rear design that helps the MG5 to look sharper and more contemporary. Both the new front and rear lights are now LED units as well as new alloy wheel designs, which ultimately help to make the MG5 look really modern and clean.
The changes continue inside, where the MG5 gets a new 10.25’’ widescreen infotainment screen that gets updated software which includes various new functions, including the ability to use MG’s iSMART smartphone application. This can be used to manage various functions of the car including operating the key, preconditioning the climate controls and scheduling the battery to charge at specific times, which is especially useful if you charge your car on a tariff that is cheaper overnight. The inside of the MG5 also gets styling enhancements, which again help it to look more modern.
Commenting on the announcement, MG’s commercial director Guy Pigounakis said “The MG5 EV has quickly established a strong following as a practical, affordable and efficient estate car and we’re seeking to build upon that success by offering customers an even more attractive, compelling design as well as a generous range of technology upgrades. The MG ‘Get More’ philosophy is a key part of our approach – we believe our customers should get more and as standard - and we are confident that the new MG5 EV strongly reflects this’’.
We are looking forward to hearing more information about the all new MG5, to stay up to date, why not follow us on Facebook?
