Following on from Hyundai’s award winning IONIQ 5, Hyundai are preparing to unveil their next all electric model for their IONIQ range. What we know so far is that it is inspired by the Prophecy Concept, which means it is going to be a smooth all electric saloon that is designed to slip through the air, meaning that it will have a lower drag coefficient, to increase the capabilities of its battery and increase its range. A few weeks ago, Hyundai released some sketches of the final production IONIQ 6, which showed that the shape from the Prophecy Concept has heavily inspired the production model, with a boot spoiler and streamliner body shape.
Since then, Hyundai have released 6 new teaser images, which show more aspects of the final design before they finally unveil this stunning new model.
Teaser 1

The first IONIQ 6 teaser shows what appears to show the new spoiler on the boot lid, with a full width integrated light bar. Not only this, but this first teaser shows that Hyundai is going to continue the pixel design language seen in the IONIQ 5’s lighting and interior design.
Teaser 2

The second teaser shows the rear quarter of the new IONIQ 6, which further hints at its attractive proportions. Alongside this, Hyundai have released a statement about the IONIQ 6’s referencing its ‘innovative proportions’ and ‘streamlined curves’ to help the air flow around the vehicle. This teaser also shows that the IONIQ 6 will inherit the IONIQ 5’s flush fitting door handles.
Teaser 3

The third teaser isn’t as clear, but it seems to show the front bumper, with the statement highlighting again the reference to the reduction of air resistance and how this is done to help improve the driving experience, making it smoother.
Teaser 4

The fourth teaser shows more of the signature lighting design, which again uses the pixel design language, which links the digital and analogue. This is a symbol of the IONIQ brand so it makes sense that Hyundai would incorporate this design feature, but it doesn’t change the fact that this pixel design language is really impressive.
Teaser 5

This is one of the most revealing of all the teasers, as it shows a lot about the IONIQ 6’s design and features. For a start, it shows that the IONIQ 6 will incorporate digital exterior mirrors, that Hyundai have already shown on the 2023 IONIQ 5. This teaser also shows that along the side of the IONIQ 6 will not feature any character lines or the sharp crease seen on the IONIQ 5. Instead, it will feature clean, smooth panels to ‘stimulate our senses’.
This teaser also hints at a new alloy design, which juxtaposes the clean exterior design, as it features intricate, dramatic and futuristic design that is really attractive.
Teaser 6

The final teaser shows the IONIQ 6’s sleek front end, which like the rest of it is extremely aerodynamic with lines across the bonnet to allow for better air flow. The pixel design language is again shown at the front, this time in the headlights, which are designed to fit into the bonnet, and look incredibly sleek, like the rest of the other teasers we have seen.
Hyundai will be unveiling the IONIQ 6 tomorrow, and we really can’t wait to find out more! To stay up to date, why not follow us on Facebook?
