Dacia
Family Car of the Year 2022
The Dacia Jogger has only been out for a few short months, but in that time, it has made a huge impact with reviewers thanks to its blend of affordability, space, durability, generous levels of equipment and enjoyable drive. Therefore, it makes sense that Auto Express have named it their Family Car of the Year! The Jogger is the culmination of three different body styles, an SUV, MPV and Estate, to give you the most practical, versatile and stylish family crossover.
On the magazine’s decision to name the All-New Dacia Jogger as its family car champion, Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Express, said: “Is it an SUV? Is it an MPV? Is it an estate car? Amazingly, the Jogger is all of those things – and it’s also our Family Car of the Year. A full seven-seater that costs the same to buy and run as a supermini, the roomiest model from the value-focused brand is also robustly built, good to drive and packed with all the kit you’ll ever need. If you’re in the market for a great value family car then forget jogging – you need to sprint to your nearest dealer.”
Nissan
Best Mid-Sized Company Car 2022, Auto Express Car of the Year 2022
Nissan’s latest addition to the range, the ARIYA recently did a tour of our showrooms, and its coupe-like style, cavernous interior and Japanese inspired design come together in order to produce a truly impressive SUV. The ARIYA combines a variety of different technologies and is an excellent vision of the future.
Steve Fowler added: "The Ariya is the most premium-feeling Nissan we've seen yet, but it backs this up with impressive technology, punchy performance and clever storage. It mixes style and substance seamlessly, and is an advanced EV right for the modern era, as many motorists seriously consider - with many making the switch - to all-electric motoring. It's our Car of the Year 2022."

Renault
Supermini of the Year 2022
Renault’s Clio is an icon for a reason, with a nameplate that spans 32 years, hence why it has won supermini of the year for the third year in a row, a direct result of its space, style and equipment!
Fowler added: “Renault has cemented its success with the Clio supermini, following up on convincing performances in 2020 and 2021 to make it a hat-trick this year. At the heart of the Renault’s appeal is its ability to squeeze genuine family-friendly versatility into such a compact package, yet the Renault blends this practicality with a generous dose of visual appeal. Factor in a long list of standard kit and some tasty finance deals from Renault, and it’s not hard to see why the Clio has taken top honours once again.
Small Company Car of the Year 2022
Renault’s newest model, the Megane E-Tech has recently finished its tour of our showrooms, and certainly has made a huge impression thanks to its incredible styling, technology and impressive materials! The Megane E-Tech is also 100% electric, with up to 286 miles range on a single charge, which means you can get all the benefits of an electric vehicle without compromising on range.
Steve Fowler, said: “The All-New Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric has been worth the wait, its blend of engaging driving dynamics, cutting-edge tech and usability taking it straight to the top step of the podium. Not only does it attract rock bottom BiK bills, but the sharp styling creates all the right impressions when it comes to impressing clients. The interior is a real highlight too, with a forward-thinking approach and some stylish trim choices.”

MG
Affordable Electric Car of the Year 2022
The MG ZS EV was reintroduced with an updated design and new battery options earlier this year, allowing up to 273 miles range on a single charge. Given its huge list of standard features and incredibly competitive prices, it’s a no brainer that it won this award.
Steve Fowler said “Few brands offer as much for the money when it comes to fully electric cars as MG. Its MG ZS EV offers a claimed 273 miles of range from its 72.6kWh battery, and with a maximum charging capability of 100kW giving an 80 per cent top-up in just 42 minutes, there’s plenty of flexibility on offer despite the MG’s value-focused price; even the Long Range model starts from just £31,495”.

Hyundai
Best Mid-Sized SUV 2022

Hyundai’s TUCSON has won so many awards this year, it is almost hard to keep track of! With its distinctive styling, premium interior and roomy and practical interior, it makes it hard for anything else in this category to compete, hence it winning this category.
Steve Fowler said ”It’s not just the distinctive design that sets the Tucson apart from the crowd in a fiercely competitive class, because it passes all the family car tests with flying colours – on its way to a class win for mid-sized SUVs. There’s plenty of space for five adults, with head and leg room among the most generous in the class. That feeling of solidity carries over to the way the Tucson drives, too. Refinement, stability, and comfort are all excellent, giving the Tucson a feel closer to that of many premium SUVs that belies its price.”

Best Hot Hatch 2022
Hyundai’s latest Hot Hatch, the i20N takes everything from its big brother the i30N. With its impressive performance and agile handling, this is perfect for the road or race track!
Steve Fowler said ”The i20 N has built on the success of the sensational i30 N to become our Hot Hatchback of the Year. Through the turns, the N wowed us with its positive front end and steering that delivered a keen turn-in to corners, while the rear end clings on gamely with just enough adjustability to keep things reassuring yet hugely entertaining. Few cars deliver so many grins at any price.”
