Set to launch Summer 2023, the new fully hybrid Renault SUV, embodies the latest contribution to the Renault C segment offensive. Replacing the well known and loved Renault KADJAR, the Renault AUSTRAL combines style with practicality, showcasing features such as an athletic design with bespoke interior detailing, as well as including up to 30 advanced driver systems and a 555-litre boot capacity.

Stylish Exterior and Interior Design

Showcasing spacious dimensions, the new Renault AUSTRAL features a sporty design with balanced proportions that enhances its rugged profile. The exterior of the Renault AUSTRAL presents a bold front end, distinctive lighting signature and glossy black roof. Additionally, there are many new elements being introduced to the AUSTRAL’s design, such as new Renault badging and a high end Alpine trim – which has never been included on a Renault vehicle before.

From the innovative and contoured cockpit, and generous space between the front seats, Renault’s aerodynamic inspiration is clear. Depending on the selected trim, the Renault AUSTRAL uses materials such as timber, leather and Alcantara, alongside a variety of soft touch textiles, which enhances the sense of luxury within.

Tech Control

On board the new Renault AUSTRAL, OpenRlink seamlessly integrates all Google services, such as Google maps, Google Assistant and Google play. This feature enables the driver to change the temperature, select music, plan a route and control home devices all with the ease of voice control. As well as integrating all of the drivers Google services, through the OpenRlink system, the Renault AUSTRAL can also access exclusive content from up to 35 apps. In addition to these innovative aspects of tech control, the Renault AUSTRAL also includes premium Harmon Kardon sound. This exclusive new system delivers 485W via two tweeters on the sides of the instrument panel, four woofers in the front and rear door panels, two surround speakers, one front central unit, two tweeters and one subwoofer in the boot. This surround sound system ensures an immersive and customisable listening experience.

Performance and Energy Control

As a full hybrid vehicle, it is unsurprising that Renault has described the Renault AUSTRAL as a ‘model of efficiency’, boasting powerful acceleration and remarkable stability. The driver of the Renault AUSTRAL has the choice of a mild petrol hybrid or a plug-in hybrid version. The petrol hybrid uses a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, with a mild-hybrid 48-volt boost, to produce 130hp. The plug-in version is powered by the same engine; however, they are linked up to an electric motor, combining to produce 200hp.

Additionally, the Renault AUSTRAL has a new 4Control advanced system, making car journeys safer and more accurate. Engine sound and response, steering firmness, lighting ambience and driver display configuration, ensure that the Renault AUSTRAL is adaptable to the changing needs of a variety of different road conditions.

Inspired from Renault’s experience with formula 1, exclusive E-Tech full hybrid technology enables the driver of a Renault AUSTRAL to use electric mode for quiet driving, that will recharge your battery when decelerating and braking.

In addition to the multiple advanced technological features of a Renault AUSTRAL, it also has 30 advanced driver systems, ensuring assistance when driving and parking. Front, rear and side parking sensors, as well as a 360 around view 3D camera, allows for completing manoeuvres with ease. Safety-assistance technologies such as, emergency braking systems with pedestrian sensors and automatic lights located at the front and rear of the vehicle, ensures that the driver is prepared for any unexpected obstructions. Lastly, new generation 9.3” head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and active driver assist, allows the driver of a Renault AUSTRAL to experience a smoother journey aided by state of the art technology.
