It’s been a standout year for Nissan in the UK. Newly released figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that both Qashqai and Juke finished 2025 among the UK’s top five best-selling new cars – a remarkable achievement for two British-built models.

Qashqai claimed third place overall, with 41,141 registrations, while Juke followed closely behind in fifth position, driven home by 34,773 customers across the country.

Why Qashqai continues to lead the way

Nearly 20 years on from its original launch, Qashqai remains one of the most popular crossovers on UK roads – and the latest updates show exactly why.

A key contributor to its continued success is Nissan’s e-POWER technology. Unlike conventional hybrids, Qashqai’s wheels are driven purely by an electric motor, delivering a smooth, quiet and responsive, EV-like driving experience. A 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generates electricity as needed, removing any need to plug in.

Recent enhancements to e-POWER have taken the experience even further, improving efficiency across the board and delivering fuel economy of up to 62mpg.

Juke: bold design, upgraded inside

Juke hasn’t been standing still either. Nissan’s designers and engineers have introduced a series of interior upgrades to improve comfort, quality and connectivity.

A redesigned centre console and instrument panel help elevate the cabin ambience, while new materials and improved fit and finish give the interior a more premium feel. Drivers also benefit from a larger touchscreen and enhanced connectivity features, making everyday journeys more intuitive and enjoyable.

What’s next for Nissan?

Nissan’s commitment to electrification continues to build momentum. In 2026, the new LEAF will arrive, with production already underway in Sunderland. The move represents a £450 million investment in Nissan’s UK operations and supply chain, and marks the return of the model that helped pioneer mass-market electric vehicles more than a decade ago.

Also arriving in UK showrooms soon is the all-new, fully electric Micra. Compact, confident and packed with smart technology, the sixth-generation Micra brings responsive handling and clever design together to make all-electric driving easy, accessible and fun.
