This latest model update for spring 2026 strengthens its core character with a more assertive design, enhanced comfort and upgraded connected technologies that support confident driving every day. As a key model in Nissan’s electrified line-up, the updated X-Trail refines a proven formula while delivering greater functionality for modern, adventurous families.
Cliodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product, Services & Marketing Strategy, Nissan AMIEO, said: “Over 25 years of X-Trail, customers have come to love its sense of adventure, practicality and advanced all-wheel-drive powertrains. The new X-Trail builds on these strengths, with a more distinctive design, smarter technology and the confidence of Nissan’s unique e-POWER technology.”
ELEVATED AND RUGGED EXTERIOR DESIGN
The 2026 X-Trail adopts a stronger, more contemporary exterior while maintaining its signature rugged appeal. A redesigned front fascia features a wider, cleaner V-Motion grille, giving the vehicle greater presence and a modern expression of Nissan’s design identity.
New styling details include 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels (standard on Tekna grade), gloss black lower bumpers, wheelarch surrounds, side sills and mirrors. Updated LED lighting, including new rear light signatures, enhances visibility and design sharpness, while new exterior colours—Sukomo Blue and Coastal Dune—complete the refreshed look.
UPGRADED INTERIOR COMFORT
Inside, the X-Trail combines durability with elevated comfort and craftsmanship. New materials include chestnut brown quilted leather upholstery, refined wood-effect trim and high-quality synthetic leather options.
Comfort features across the range include heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. A flexible 40/20/40 sliding second row enhances practicality, while premium options such as a Bose 10-speaker audio system further enhance the driving experience.
ADVANCED CONNECTIVITY AND TECHNOLOGY
NissanConnect with Google built-in For the first time on X-Trail, the latest NissanConnect system integrates Google built-in, offering seamless access to Google Assistant, navigation, apps via the Play Store and over-the-air updates.
Drivers can use natural voice commands to control navigation, climate settings and communications—allowing for a more intuitive, hands-free experience.
3D Around View Monitor An enhanced 3D Around View Monitor system uses wide-angle cameras to provide a 360° bird’s-eye view with eight selectable perspectives. New features include Invisible Hood View for improved visibility on uneven terrain, and T-Junction View to assist when pulling out of low-visibility junctions.
Improved ProPILOT Assist Updates to ProPILOT Assist deliver smoother acceleration and braking, improved lane stability and enhanced traffic sign recognition for a more natural and confident driving experience.
ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN
The 2026 X-Trail continues to feature Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid technology, delivering an electric motor driving experience without the need to plug in. This provides instant torque, smooth acceleration and refined performance.
Paired with optional e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, the system offers enhanced grip, stability and comfort across a wide range of driving conditions.
ENHANCED N-TEK GRADE
The updated N-Trek grade returns with a more rugged design and practical enhancements tailored for outdoor lifestyles. Distinctive ‘magma red’ accents, exclusive badging and durable materials reinforce its adventurous character.
Features include waterproof CellCloth® upholstery, rubber floor mats and a reversible cargo liner—ideal for handling muddy gear and active family use. A panoramic sunroof adds light and openness to the cabin.
