In partnership with East Cheshire Hospice and St Rocco’s Hospice, Hyundai Macclesfield is the headline sponsor for their Hospice-to-Hospice hike, in aid of both charities. Our Hyundai Franchise Director Steve Shaw and our accountant Dave Ledger were so interested in the event, that they themselves will also be taking part!
East Cheshire Hospice is based in Macclesfield and has been taking care of people suffering from life limiting illnesses since 1988, putting patients, their carers and families at the centre of everything that they do. With only 17% of their funding coming from the government, a majority of their funding comes from generous donations to be able to continue their incredible work.
St Rocco’s Hospice is based in Warrington and like East Cheshire Hospice, they provide specialist care for people with life limiting illnesses, something they have been doing for over 30 years. St Rocco’s hospice is committed to supporting their patients in every way possible to enable them to live the live they want to live for as long as possible, as well as improving the quality of life for their loved ones. Like with East Cheshire Hospice, this is only possible with the help of donations from the general public.
Both hospices have a number of events throughout the year, but for this particular event they have decided to collaborate to be able to provide a unique type of event that will test participants endurance and stamina, whilst equally helping to spread awareness about the amazing work that both charities do on a daily basis.
Participants taking part will be hiking between the two hospices, a distance of almost 28 miles, on Saturday 2nd July. As previously mentioned, our very own Steve Shaw and Dave Ledger will be taking part with proceeds going to the hospices. You can donate via their Just Giving page.
