Due to the rising energy and fuel prices, as well as increases on everyday living costs, the motability scheme has been updated to help users make the most out of their next car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV). This is in the form of a £250 vehicle payment for those joining the scheme during 2022.
Am I eligible?
If you have newly joined the scheme in 2022, you are eligible to receive the New Vehicle Payment at the point in which you receive your new vehicle. This means if you take delivery of your first vehicle in 2022, or place an order during 2022, you are eligible for the scheme.
If you are already a customer as of 31 December 2021, you will become eligible for the payment when you take delivery of your next vehicle, whenever this is, even if this is in a number of years.
If you are a new customer, there is no rush to place your order, even if you end up in a position where your vehicle is not ready till 2023. As long as you order before the end of 2022, you will receive this payment at the point that your vehicle is delivered.
When do you receive your payment?
You will receive your payment shortly after you take delivery of your new vehicle, and the payment is only available once per customer.
You can choose to have this paid via bank transfer or cheque (although cheque may take longer to arrive.
