Nissan E.V Servicing

Nissan E.V Servicing

Pure electric cars are in many ways a lot simpler than our conventional petrol or diesel cars. Which can make electric car servicing easier and maintenance costs less likely; helping to keep costs (and hassle) to a minimum.

Let’s keep things simple.

To ensure they run smoothly and reliably, our trusty petrol and diesel cars require a number of parts. Exhausts; catalytic converters; starter motors, spark plugs, oil, cooling systems; engine dampers; fuel injection systems; fuel pumps... the list goes on. Pure electric cars, on the other hand, have only three main components: the electric motor; the on-board charger and the inverter.

Expert help on hand.

Here at Holdcroft Nissan we have manufacturer trained experts who can care expertly for your electric vehicle.

What You Need To Know About Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF)

Diesel Particulate Filters are fitted to some diesel vehicles manufactured after 2008 and all diesel-engined vehicles registered from 2011 onwards. Diesel particulate filters are necessary to reduce the amount of harmful particles released from diesel vehicles.

Although particulate filters are very effective in reducing the amount of particulates emitted from diesel vehicles, most filters need to burn the trapped particulates off fairly regularly, referred to as “regeneration”.

How often do I need to regenerate DPF?

Active regeneration will be initiated every 300 miles or so depending on how you use your car and will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

What are the signs of a blocked DPF?

  1. 1. You feel a loss of power in your engine (limp mode)
  2. 2. The DPF light will appear on your dashboard
  3. 3. Passive and active regeneration keep failing
  4. 4. A pungent smell of diesel
  5. 5. Automatic Stop-Starting System not working
  6. 6. Your car seems to be releasing an excessive amount of smoke.
