Prodrive Tweaks the New Subaru Impreza
Autocar Magazine has reported that the all new Subaru Impreza is set to get a power upgrade from rally specialist Prodrive.
As it did with the previous-generation Impreza, Prodrive will be offering a performance pack that increases the car's power without invalidating the manufacturer's three-year warranty.
The Prodrive Performance Pack will be available on the new 2.5-litre turbocharged WRX STI. A package for the standard WRX is also highly likely.
Subaru UK had initially said it was unlikely that Prodrive would tweak the new Impreza, but as the 2.5-litre boxer engine is a lightly modified version of that in the old car, it has clearly proved easy to do.
The 297bhp WRX STi is likely to get a boost of around 100bhp from Prodrive, which should make this already rapid machine one of the fastest cars for around £30,000.
Prodrive is also said to be working on brake and suspension upgrades for the new Impreza.
Dave Brennan the Dealer Principal of Holdcroft Subaru in Newcastle-under-Lyne in Staffordshire say's 'the new Impreza is a fabulous car in standard trim so it'll be simply incredible with the forth-coming upgrades' and 'I'm delighted customers will have the potential to tailor their car to complement their personal taste and requirements'.
Dave Brennan has been with the Subaru since 1999 and is a winner of several Subaru National Awards and is especially keen on offering top-class customer care.
