Motability Extends Mileage Allowances
Motability, the national charity, set up on the initiative of the Government in 1977, with the aim of helping disabled people with their mobility needs has extended the mileage allowance on its three-year lease contracts to 60,000 miles.
The charity which directs and oversee's the Motability Scheme that enables disabled people to obtain a car (or powered wheelchair or scooter) simply by using their government-funded mobility allowances has made the change of 15,000 miles to help drivers avoid excess mileage.
Mike Betts, the Chief Executive of Motability Operations stated 'The more-miles policy applies to both existing customers and new.' Welcome news indeed.
'We hope that anyone who has found the mileage allowance a barrier in the past will reconsider the Motability car scheme.'
In addition to the mileage allowance increase from 45,000 miles to 60,000 miles for contract hire users, customers with a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) on a five year agreement can now enjoy a total of 100,000 miles over the period of their contract.
Existing customers on the Motability scheme do not need to apply to be eligible for the changes as the increase will automatically apply to everyone.
Holdcroft Group has Motability Experts in their branches who are more than happy assist with the supply on the Motability Scheme a vehicle to those eligible. The Group is will also be delighted to maintain any Motability supplied vehicle at all it's franchised dealerships and offers courtesy cars or collection and delivery (within prescribed postcodes).
