Honda Civic is Barking up the Right Tree
Alison Barker, PA to the Holdcroft Group Managing Director and Chairman has just test-driven the Honda Civic Type S for www.holdcroft.com.
Offered a variety of superb machinery from each of the Groups nine franchises from which to pick, bubbly young mum Alison opted for the sporty Civic Type S. Why? 'I just love the look of the new car which is really distinctive and looks fab in black.'
So what did she think of the interior? it is she says 'really adventurously styled, in-keeping with the cars trendy looks outside.' more specifically she was taken by the fact that the styling is backed up with high quality materials and interesting textures.
One of the things about the lastest generation of Civic's that most people will like, not just Alison, is how big the cabin is. Compared with its predecessor the exterior dimensions of the new car are actually smaller. However, Honda claims that room inside is just as generous as before and anyone who sat in the car will agree with them.
So did the car suit Ali's busy family schedule? you bet, even when tested to the max by Emily, her little girl and all her friends during the weekend party run's that all parents of young children was familiar with. She said 'even though the car I tried was a 3-door the kid's could get in and out no problem, in fact, it felt really safe knowing they couldn't fiddle with door handles and so on.' As it happens she's right to be confident in the new car. Things like the body structure and subframes, recessed pedals, double pretensioners on the front seatbelts and side curtain airbags, mean that the new Civic has achieved a Euro NCAP five star result for front and side impact safety, three stars for pedestrian safety and four stars for child protection safety.
Behind the Wheel, Alison commended the Honda for its fantastic driving position which is exemplary. Furthermore, she loved the cars performance saying 'the engine was excellent, I haven't driven many diesel cars and was amazed by how fast the car was.' (Not surprising given that the engine she tried was the top of the range 139bhp 2.2-litre diesel)
In summary, Alison gave the car a big thumbs up and has certainly been impressed by the superstar Civic Type S!
