‘Team Holdcroft’ Adorn Lycra to Raise Funds for Dougie Mac!

The Douglas Macmillan Hospice are holding their annual Bike Ride on Sunday 11th May. The ride has an option of three routes – the shortest 10, the longest and most popular – 110 miles! The circular routes begin and end at the Michelin Athletic on the A34. All cyclists receive a picnic lunch on their return.

Tony Simpson, Workshop Controller for Holdcroft Motor Group took part in 2007 with his ‘mate’ and completed the 50 mile route. The friends continued to cycle after they completed the 2007 event and decided to make it the Llangollen run of 110 miles in 2008.

Tony put the word around his place of work that he was undertaking the 'Dougie Mac Bike Ride' again and invited others to join him. From the Workshop to the Sales Team, Accounts to the Parts department the Company has embraced the challenge and now there is a 20 strong team from Holdcroft based on Leek Road, Hanley.

Holdcroft have supported by meeting the entry fee for all employees wishing to get involved and have commissioned T-Shirts for them all to wear. Tony Simpson said ‘The Hospice is a really great cause, and I hope that other companies will do as ours have and support their employees to take up this cycle challenge’
